PUG Raid Rules

Unity keeps guild raids PUG-free, but we open some raids to pugs. This page covers what pugs need to know before joining.

Which raids are open to pugs

  • Molten Core (MC) — open to pugs
  • Blackwing Lair (BWL) — open to pugs
  • Temple of Ahn’Qiraj (AQ40) — kept in-guild where possible
  • Naxxramasguild only

Loot system for pugs

PUG raids use Soft Reserve with the classic priority: 1 SR > MS > OS.

  • Raids are started and ended in CoreLootManager (CLM), but loot is rolled out with Gargul.
  • You still earn EP for attending, so if you later join the guild your effort is already on record.

Guild-locked items

  • BWL — weapons and trinkets are guild-locked.
  • MC — the bindings of Thunderfury and Sulfuras are reserved for the guild.
  • Raid materials are for the guild.

If no guild member soft-reserves a locked weapon or trinket, it is rolled out in Gargul so everyone — pugs and guildies alike — has a fair chance at it.

What we expect from pugs

  • Come with consumables, world buffs, and enchanted gear.
  • Be on Discord and follow the raid leader’s calls.

Not meeting these requirements means you won’t be brought into the raid.

Pugs are added to our CLM database, so if you decide to join Unity later, your contribution is already tracked. Interested? See Recruitment.
